{Get digging.....}

At the weekend the lovely Mr Pretty has formed 2 raised beds for our allotment - just another 3 to make!! I would like to say that I played a part in helping him but alas I was ... erm..... busy doing other things. I like the idea of having these things but when it comes to the practical part i'm afraid thats where Mr P comes in, although I will and do help with the planting, weeding and of course eating!

Our plans are to also have a small orchard there with some soft fruits such as raspberries, strawberries, blueberries etc but the children have grown 4 apple trees from the seeds of their eaten apples which we will plant too, we already have a pear tree there and will probably plant a cherry tree too - any other ideas for trees??

I'm getting quite excited about it all now, its coming along very nicely although there is still alot (for Mr P) to do!!

When I get 5 minutes I will post some pictures of our progress so far

{Yummy Cakes}

My wonderful children made these yummy cakes after school.....although I did catch little P hiding with the tub of sprinkles!!

These cakes were made with love and fun, but if you do want ideas to try for cupcakes I have found a great site mumswhobake they have some really fun ideas and they also do courses on how to make them - what a fab idea!!

Help!!!!

Can anyone give me a bit of help/advice on changing my blog layout? I want to keep the vintage doll design but can't make it fit any downloaded layouts.....i'm a bit of a novice when it comes to all this stuff so if anyone could help me that would be great!

{spring forward...}

Can you believe that it will soon be time to put the clocks forward?!?!

I really can't wait either, with all this lovely sunny weather we have been having i have even ventured to getting all the childrens garden toys out........is that tempting fate?

But as we all know along with sping comes the longing and desire to freshen up, clear out, make plans and think about {{quite wisper}} summer....

and with that in mind I have found a gorgeous inspirational piece to get you going!! I absolutely LoVe LoVe LoVe this idea, its such a simple but effective way of creating your own art piece.......i'm going to try something similar in our dining area using my childrens art work and a few photos

{i need summer back now!!}

.......so that i can do a set like this out in my garden!! doesn't it look fabulous!!!

however summer has sadley passed and we are further into Autumn than i thought (not quite sure how we got to november though...) but on the plus side its Bonfire night tomorrow which means hot soup, jacket potatoes, sparklers, scarf and mittens...........i can't wait!!

Oktoberfest

Absolutely nothing what so ever to do with homes or style I know BUT I'm soooooooo excited to be going away with Mr Pretty for the weekend on our own.....with NO children!! I shall of course be visiting all the places renowned for architecture, history and style and reporting back to you next week..................;-)

my new favorite room

This room looks so light and airy, it is something I couldn't achieve in my own house as a living room because the dimensions are completely different. However, I would love to incorperate some of the ideas from this room into a breakfast room (if......no when! we get our extension off the ground), imagine sitting in a room like this eating a warm english muffin with a pot of steaming hot coffee in the morning sun.........................
